Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026. This policy explains how ShowSpotter collects and uses information when you use the app and website.
Information We Collect
We may collect account information such as your email address, display name, account type, sign-in details, and account status. We use this information to create and manage ShowSpotter accounts, including Free Accounts and Event Organizer accounts.
Event organizers and Pop-Up creators may provide event details such as event names, dates, times, venue names, addresses, city/state/ZIP, event links, parking notes, weather policies, and live updates. Event listings may be visible to other ShowSpotter users.
If you choose to use location features, ShowSpotter may use your device location to show distance to events, filter nearby events, display your location on maps, and save an alert area for nearby event notifications. We do not use location features unless you grant permission. You can change location permissions in your device settings.
We may collect event interaction information, such as whether you mark yourself as Going or Interested. These counts may be shown on event pages and may help sort live events.
If you enable push notifications, we may collect and store a device push notification token and your notification preferences so we can send event alerts, live event notices, live updates, cancellation notices, and other ShowSpotter notifications you choose to receive.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate ShowSpotter, display events, manage organizer accounts, show maps and distances, send notifications, support event sharing, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
Payments
Paid organizer subscriptions and Pop-Up event purchases are processed by Apple as in-app purchases. ShowSpotter does not directly collect or store your full payment card information.
We use RevenueCat to help manage in-app purchases, subscription status, purchase restoration, and related purchase records. RevenueCat may receive purchase identifiers and app user identifiers needed to provide those services.
Ads and Affiliate Links
ShowSpotter may display paid advertisements or affiliate links. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases or visits through affiliate ads.
Service Providers
We use service providers to operate ShowSpotter. These include Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend functions; RevenueCat for in-app purchase management; Resend for account and password reset emails; Expo for app services and push notification delivery; Apple for in-app purchases and App Store services; and Vercel for website hosting.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to ShowSpotter.
Your Choices
You can choose whether to enable location access and push notifications. You can change these permissions in your device settings. You can also manage notification preferences in the ShowSpotter app.
You may delete your ShowSpotter account from the Profile tab in the app. Account deletion removes your profile, event activity, notification preferences, and related account records. Events created by the deleted account may be hidden or removed from public lists.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to operate ShowSpotter, provide account features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Some purchase records may be retained by Apple or RevenueCat according to their own policies.
Children
ShowSpotter is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
